Length: 10 hours
This MEDIC FIRST AIDŽ program is designed for Adult Care professionals working in care facilities or home support. It has been recognized by the Ministry of Health and provides two certifications on successful completion: Workplace for BC (WorkSafe BC OFA Level 1) and Adult Care. Emphasis is also placed on personal protection including using pocket masks for rescue breathing.
Core material taught includes:
- minor wound care
- heart problems
- respiratory problems
- adult cpr
- adult choking interventions
- introduction to A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillator)
- control bleeding
- head and spinal injuries
- fractures, including pelvic injuries
- shock management
- asthma
- stroke
- seizures
- diabetic emergencies
- emergency moves
No pre-studying required.
