$120 + Tax This course meet the requirements for those who study in the health sciences (i.e. Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Chiropractic, Rehabilitation, Resident Care Attendant, Etc.) It is a program in the development of the Primary and Secondary Essential Skills of Patient Care.
You will be able to identify and perform appropriate interventions for:
- primary assessment
- choking management
- CPR (Adults, Children & Infants)
- introduction to AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
- how the AED determines a shockable rhythm
- protocols to allow the rescuer to deliver a shock
- built-in safety features
- troubleshooting
- different situations for using an AED
- controlling deadly bleeding
- shock management
- ongoing assessment
- bone and joint injuries
- respiratory problems
- allergic reactions
- seizures
- head & spinal injuries
- diabetic emergencies
- cold related injuries
- additional specific first aid topics on illness and injuries.
Emphasis is also placed on personal protection including using pocket masks for rescue breathing.
Certificates awarded on successful completion:
Standard Basic Plus
