Course Length: 8 hours
Certification: 3 years
This program is nationally recognized and covers the procedures for life-threatening conditions to all age groups. It focuses on:
- primary assessment
- choking management
- CPR (Adults, Children & Infants)
- introduction to AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
- how the AED determines a shockable rhythm
- protocols to allow the rescuer to deliver a shock
- built-in safety features
- troubleshooting
- different situations for using an AED
- controlling deadly bleeding
- shock management
- ongoing assessment
Emphasis is also placed on personal protection including using pocket masks for rescue breathing.
No pre-studying required.
This program is also offered in conjunction with the Standard First Aid Course .
