The idea of the Care Initiator course is to begin patient care until a person who is trained to a higher level arrives and assumes control of the situation. This course is the basis for all other programs offered. It is designed to train the student only in the Essential Skills of Primary Care. Students learn the skills of patient care in the same sequence they are actually used. Emphasis is placed on the effective use of Barriers and Personal Protection in all situations.
Some of the major skills that students will learn are:
- one-rescuer adult CPR
- introduction to A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillator)
- choking management
- control of bleeding
This course is also equivalent to a CPR Level 'A' certification.
No pre-studying required.
