Course Length: 8 hours
Certification: 2 years
This EMP Canada - MEDIC FIRST AID course is an Adult Care oriented program for employers looking for a quality one day first aid course that meets the requirements for WorkSafe BC. It is occupationally oriented and applies the same priorities of care and approach used by professionals where a primary assessment, CPR, choking and other important skills are integrated.
Students will be able to identify and perform appropriate interventions for:
- respiratory problems
- control of bleeding
- fractures
- C-spine control
- minor soft tissue injuries
- adult CPR
- choking management
- shock
- additional specific first aid topics on illness and injuries.
On successful completion the student will be qualified as a WorkSafe B.C. Occupational First Aid Level 1 Attendant.
Pre-requisites:
- picture ID required
- minimum 16 years old
